Travel to Poznań

Poznan is located midway between Berlin and Warsaw and can be reached by train from either city or by plane from Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Stansted, London Luton, Munich, Warsaw, and several other European airports.

BY AIR

The following carriers have direct connections to Poznan Lawica Airport: LOT, SAS, Lufthansa, Ryanair and Wizzair [for more information please see: timetable]. There is a bus connection between Poznan Lawica Airport and the Poznan railway station (line 59) and there is also a taxi stand in front of the arrival hall.

For air connections to Warsaw, please check the Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport timetable.

BY TRAIN

From Warsaw

From Warsaw Airport, take a taxi or a train to the Warsaw central railway station („Warszawa Centralna”). It is safe to take a taxi from the line outside the airport terminal. Reject any offer of a taxi ride from individuals who approach you when leaving the terminal. Trains to Poznan leave the Warsaw central station approximately every hour during the day. The Warsaw-Poznan ride takes less than 3 hours by express train. For TLK, IC (Intercity), EC (Eurocity) and EX (Express) trains, a seat reservation is required. For timetables and more information see: PKP SA and Intercity.

From Berlin

There are two airports (Tegel and Schönefeld) in Berlin and you can catch all direct trains to Poznan at Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) or Berlin Ostbahnhof.

From Tegel Airport:
Take the TXL (destination Mollstr./Prenzlauer Allee) bus to Berlin Hauptbahnhof (7th stop). The bus ride takes approximately 37 minutes, but this may vary depending on traffic. The bus departs every 6 minutes.

From Schönefeld Airport:
Take S-Bahn S9 and transfer to S7 at Ostkreuz to Hauptbahnhor or Ostbahnhof. Alternatively, you may take a local train to Berlin-Ostbahnhof and from there to Poznan. It is easiest to check the timetable for trains at Deutsche Bahn [https://www.bahn.com/en/view/index.shtml] and buy one ticket (at Schönefeld) for the whole ride. Allow 1 hour for the journey from the airport to Hauptbahnhof/Ostbahnhof (this does not include any time buffer for luggage retrieval or late arrivals).

For a bus ride from Tegel Airport, buy the „Berlin AB” (2.80 EUR) ticket, and for the S-Bahn ride from Schönefeld Airport, buy the „Berlin ABC” (3.40 EUR) ticket.

International trains from Berlin require approximately 2.5 hours to arrive in Poznan.
